Welcome to LaFair Art, a unique combination of two distinct meanings: “LaFairai,” the Moroccan marketplace for vintage treasures, and “Art,” the realm of creativity and self-expression. Since our inception in 2017, we have been at the forefront of the evolving fashion landscape. We started as purveyors of vintage garments and recognized the opportunity to infuse art into our offerings — creating wearable art pieces within the realm of streetwear. At LaFair Art, we are passionate about sustainable fashion, repurposing vintage clothing to promote conscious consumption and eco-friendly practices.

النساء الرودانيات

النساء الرودانيات

Women of Taroudant

EN

The women of Taroudant represent our deepest roots, a symbol of resilience that tells the story of an entire people. In their silence lies the wisdom of generations.

When we placed their images on our shirts, we weren't just creating a garment. We were writing a message to the future — our heritage is our pride, and resilience is our choice.

From the Field to Art

This project was created to honor rural Moroccan women whose strength, style, and daily struggle inspired us deeply. These women work from sunrise to sunset, yet their stories are rarely seen or heard. We wanted to give visibility to people who have spent their lives without recognition.

What the world calls streetwear has roots that already existed in their natural way of dressing: layered clothing, bandanas, mixed patterns, and bold colors born from necessity and identity, not fashion trends.

“Celebrating women should not happen only one day a year.”

Raï's Romantic

Cheb

Hasni

Cheb Hasni's death shook the raï music scene. Born in 1968, this charismatic Algerian singer became the king of sentimental raï.

His songs, rebellious against societal constraints, resonated with a generation facing hardships. In Oran, he was a neo-romantic icon, transcending borders with his raï-love tunes.

“More than a musician — a symbol of defiance and love.”

A lila (dardba) is like all sacred rituals: a spiritual music and a therapy for the soul. It includes charity and offerings, and the praise of God.

It is divided into seven Mhellat and seven colors, each color expressing a meaning from the universe, and each Mhella performed with its own songs and unique way.

“Each color, a meaning. Each Mhella, a world.”

Nass El Ghiwane

“Nass El Ghiwane did not sing for love — but for the painful Moroccan reality.

Urban poverty highlights the stark contrast between marginalized communities struggling to find shelter and sustenance while the wealthy enjoy opulent lives.

To address this, we must empower impoverished individuals with better access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

Inclusive urban planning and social responsibility are essential for creating equal opportunities and a more just society for all.
